Today’s Jargon is Dirty Dozen, Clean 15!  Shannon talks about recent research that has shown the importance of reducing the amount of pesticides in our diet and more importantly the diet of our children!  But how can you eat healthily on a budget?  The Environmental Working group issues a list each year of the "dirtiest" fruits and vegetables as well as a list of fruits and vegetables that are relatively safe to buy conventionally.  These lists are known as the Dirty Dozen and the Clean Fifteen.  For more infomation or to view the lists visit: www.ewg.org.

Today’s Jargon is Antecedent!  The A,B,Cs of behavior tell us there is an Antecedent, a behavior and then a consequence.  Antecedents are things that come before a behavior.  Antecedent modifications are sometimes very effective.

Today’s Jargon is Generalization!  Generalization happens when a person is able to successfully apply what they have learned in situations and circumstances where they have not had previous instruction.  Generalization is one of the hallmarks of a quality ABA program.  It is essential that any lesson that is taught have a clear plan for how it will be generalized before the first lesson is even attempted.
